However, the most prestigious journals and conference articles of the field of Computer Science can be found here:

• ACM Digital Library

Catalogues and abstracts of both electronic libraries can be viewed for free.

More and more authors are choosing to pay for publications so that their articles can be read for free (so-called Open Access), thus promoting the distribution of content and the recognition of an author. You can already find issues of IEEE journals, which can be read completely for free, while others have both paid and free articles.
