The online hackathon dedicated to robotics, artificial intelligence and automation will take place from November 26 to 28. The goal of the RobotHack 2021 online hackathon or 48 hours idea marathon is to create prototypes of innovative solutions, evaluate the business potential of the idea, and create interdisciplinary teams that can implement these ideas in life. Ideas can be submitted in four categories: "Robotics", "Virtual Assistants", "Machine Learning and Intelligent Algorithms" and "5G and Future Robots".

“Robotics and automation solutions are increasingly deployed in both the private and public sectors, and the household robotics market is projected to grow by 19% annually, reaching $ 17 billion in 2023. Currently, the world is facing the challenges of COVID-19, climate change, as well as safe learning and work environment, so innovative solutions are needed that can help solve these issues more effectively. RobotHack 2021 is an excellent opportunity for each participant to discover their creativity, share ideas, gain new associates and skills. Working together as a team on one of the challenges will not only broaden your horizons, but you will probably also find your future calling!” says Kārlis Skuja, the organizer of RobotHack 2021.

Students from all universities and programs are invited to work on solutions that will improve or even change the way how we study, work, or have fun. Experienced business, technology, design and automation experts will help teams achieve better results. Teams will have the opportunity to compete for a prize fund of EUR 2,000 to develop the idea after the hackathon. Pre-established teams can apply, as well as individually. Registration until November 25.

To encourage hackathon participants to offer new and bold solutions, before the hackathon, on November 16, 18:00, a webinar “Robots and Automation - Threat or Opportunity” will be organized, where experts will discuss current issues, challenges and trends in the field of automation. The webinar will be streamed on Facebook Live.

RobotHack 2021 online hackathon is organized in cooperation with the University of Latvia and Riga Technical University by the association "WindHackers", which aims to promote the development of innovative and technology-based ideas among young people, as well as unite people from different industries and sectors.

The event is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project No.1.1.1.3 / 18 / A / 007 "Innovation Grants for Students of the University of Latvia".
