In 2019, the final of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC) took place from 31 March to 5 April in Porto, Portugal, and the University of Latvia was represented by Pēteris Pakalns, Vladislavs Kļevickis, Ingus Jānis Pretkalniņš and coaches prof. Guntis Arnicāns and Jevgēnijs Vihrovs.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the oldest and most prestigious academic programming competition in the world. The competition took place for the 43rd year, and this year it was attended by 52,709 participants, representing 3,233 universities from 110 countries. The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the competition take place in the regions of all inhabited continents, while about 100 of the world's strongest teams go to the final competition. 

This year, the 135 strongest student teams in the world participated in the final.
